Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Forsyth - Orthotics and Prosthetics at 410 Peachtree Pkwy, Cumming, Georgia.

We have visited this facility a number of times and generally had a good experience, doctors seemed knowledgeable and caring. However, we brought my son to this facility on Friday the 19th after he took a fall and had a limp (our pediatrician sent us here). Intake went well and the nurses there were very pleasant. When it was time to see dr. Sawti Mahajan, she came in and started examining him. Didn't watch him walk or take time to understand how he fell. She ordered an xray of his ankle even though she stated she didn't think it was an ankle issue.

She also checked his ears and said one was 80% blocked with wax. This wasn't shocking as he has tubes and this is a normal issue he has. She offered to clean out his ear which I agreed to as they do this at his normal pediatrician easily with a little scraper. I assumed this is how it would be done here. The nurse brought in some medicine to squirt in his ear saying it would loosen the wax. Ok that is fine. The first time she tried to put it in his ear she missed and it squirted all over his face. She then came back and asked us to lay him down and proceeded to begin squirting water in his ear to irrigate. My son has tubes- you are NOT supposed to allow water in his ears and here she was pushing syringes of water in as he screamed. Shame on me for not stopping it but the nurse and the dr could tell I was very unhappy with what just occurred. We couldn't get out of there fast enough.

Overall- I was displeased with the lack of effort the dr seemed to put into his treatment and ordered a procedure that he was NOT supposed to have. Fingers crossed he doesn't get an ear infection after all that.
